Daily/Weekly Bible readings

As you read the Bible, think "rhythm and response". What is the rhythm or beat of this part of Scripture? What is here that is supposed to move you?

How will you respond? How will you move as you SYNC with that rhythm? How will you celebrate, obey, or share something that has moved you?
Remember that the point is not how much you read. It is how much you SYNC with Christ because of whatever you read.

In SYNC with Christ, you receive his mercy and you pass it on. If you let his mercy end with you, you miss the whole point of it. His mercy is supposed to transform you into a merciful person and flow through you to everybody around you. That way you build a reputation for being merciful not  judgmental!

Daily Bible readings in the New Testament column cover the whole New Testament in one year, and the Old Testament readings cover the whole Old Testament. However, you do not read through the Bible directly from start to finish.

In each SYNC season, the biblical books you read are those that emphasize the seasonal theme most clearly. For example, during Mercy Season, you read books like Luke, which is sometimes called the "Gospel of Forgiveness," and Jeremiah, which foretells that God will mercifully bring his people back to their homeland after decades of life in exile.

FAQs

Why are these books chosen as the readings for Mercy Season?

Mercy and forgiveness are prominent themes in each book. Together these books paint a complex, beautiful picture of mercy.

Should I try to catch up if I miss some of the readings?

No. Too easy to get discouraged if you try that. Concentrate on SYNCing with Christ in whatever the reading is for today.
