Weekly Bible readings

Weekly Bible readings are designed for one reading session per week. You read either one chapter (large font in list below) or all three chapters listed by each date. These are some of the most important chapters you would read if you were using the daily readings for the same week. 

The 3D method of Bible reading:  

  •    Drumbeat -- What is the drumbeat of these verses, the pattern, the feel? How do they give me the rhythm of God's life?

  •    Dance -- If I dance to that drumbeat, what will I do today, and how will I feel about my day?

  •    Delivery -- While dancing this dance, where can I deliver life to others?

Remember that the point is not how much you read. It is how much you SYNC with Christ because of whatever you read. In SYNC with him, you fill up with his life and joy, and that makes you an asset to everybody around you.

Choose to read one passage per week (large font) or all three listed.

Jan. 1-6,    John 3.1-20   (+ Gen. 1, Jn. 1:1-28)

Jan. 7-13,   John 6.25-70     (+ Gen. 22, Job 1)

Jan. 14-20,   John 10.1-21      (+ Jn. 8.1-30, Jn. 8.31-59)

Jan. 21-27,   John 12:20-50      (+ Job 42, Jn. 14.1-14)

Jan. 28-Feb. 3,   John 15.1-16.4    (+ Jn. 17, Prov. 3)

Feb. 4-10,   John 20.19-31   (+ Rev. 20, 21)

Feb. 11-13,   James 5    (+ Prov. 31, Jas. 3)

Should I try to catch up if I miss some of the readings?


No. Too easy to get discouraged if you try that. Concentrate on SYNCing with Christ in whatever the reading is for today.


Why are these books chosen as the readings for Life Season?


Creation and life are prominent themes in each book. Genesis and John tell us how life began. Books like James and Proverbs tell us how to live it in SYNC with the Creator. Job and Ecclesiastes remind us it is not a bed of roses, but life is still a gift.
