It's great to celebrate Jesus' arrival as a baby at Christmas, but as Christians we need to double down on our Christmas celebration. I'm not talking about twice the activity (heaven forbid!) but twice the meaning.

We need to be celebrating the vision of Jesus' future reign right along with his birth! The whole Christmas story in the Bible points us in that direction! The wise men brought gifts to the King. Many Christmas carols rejoice in the coming of the King. What better time than Christmas to look into the future, get into a party mood, and pray, "Come, King Jesus"?

That's why the SYNC icon for Vision Season is not a manger or a Christmas tree but a rising sun. Jesus came to earth to announce a new era, the era of his kingdom or reign. Today we live in the dawn of his era. He will return to assert his authority, establishing the new era with blazing glory.

The "5G Quick Overview" below will establish your high-speed connection to Vision Season. Once you have that, go on with your preferred methods from these lists:
Catching onto the Vision Rhythm - getting the idea and the feel of it
Moving with the Vision Rhythm - letting it move you; living it out
As you catch and move with the Vision Rhythm, you will discover who you are, and you will like what you are becoming under the influence of Jesus--a trailer for the movie about the coming world of peace. You will "See Yourself iN Christ," and people will get a glimpse of the future just by being around you.

The "5G" flow during Vision Season

Quick preview of catching the Vision Rhythm and moving with it

The game-changer for Vision Season is Christ's return. The ancient prophecy says, "As my vision continued that night, I saw someone like a son of man coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient One and was led into his presence. He was given authority, honor, and sovereignty over all the nations of the world, so that people of every race and nation and language would obey him. His rule is eternal—it will never end. His kingdom will never be destroyed" (Daniel 7.13-14) Jesus claimed to be that person, and he promised to return to fulfill that prophecy (Revelation 22.20) That will be the final game-changer in the story of the world

The gift we get from this prophecy is a vision of Christ's return and the peace he will bring. That vision brings us a paradoxical combination of internal peace and intense motivation. We can relax because we know the story of the world has a happy ending, but at the same time, we can't wait for it to happen. We are motivated to bring as much of heaven to earth as we can, and to do it as soon as we can without trying to force it.

Get it

If we "get it," we understand that Jesus is the Coming King of the world, not just the one who pays off our sin debt or a prophet who teaches good things. That is the "ah-hah moment" when something inside us changes. The world we live in will never look the same to us again.

Go with it

After that, the natural thing to do is to "Go with it," living like we have one foot in the future. We actually do. We already are free citizens of Jesus' kingdom, which means he reigns over us, giving us some of the joy and peace that will be everywhere when he reigns everywhere. Jesus, as King, set this up so he could show everyone how well things turn out when he takes over. In this way they could be drawn into his kingdom too.

We find our authentic identity in Christ the Coming King. We are 100% genuine people, locked into the vision of Christ's return to reign. We SYNC with that vision. Whatever evil will be eradicated from the world at that time, we want him to eradicate from us right now. Whatever honor and praise the nations will give him then, we want to start giving already. We aren't in the perfect world yet, but we can see it from here. And what a vision!
