Seven of the 50 "Jubilee Cards" help us catch onto the Vision Rhythm. They clue us in to the vision that drives God's global campaign, and they sign us up to become part of his strategy to make the vision a reality.

Along with the Vision icon, each of the Vision Cards has a verse, a prayer, a declaration, and reminder of how we see ourselves during Vision Season.

  • Each verse tells us something about the coming world of peace.
  • Each prayer relates to the future we see in the verse.
  • Each declaration identifies us with the prayer, giving us a focus for the day.
  • Each reminder ties everything together. We know who we are.

The story behind the first Vision Verse, Revelation 11.15

The Bible is loaded with visions about a perfect world in the future, when the Messiah (the ruler appointed by God) will rule with peace and justice. The last book in the Bible, Revelation, is an incredibly long detailed vision about the persecution of Jesus's followers and, at the end, Jesus's complete triumph over the persecutors.

The first Vision Verse is the beginning of one small section of that story (Revelation 11.15-19). It describes Jesus Christ taking power on earth when the seventh and last trumpet of judgment sounds. Then it is "Game over" for all his enemies.

God's campaign to connect, heal, and bless is over too. All the changes he was campaigning to bring have been brought. There is no work left for the campaign team. They get to go to the victory party (the wedding feast of the Lamb) and enjoy the kingdom that Jesus has set up.

The Last Trumpet Sounds

Revelation 11:15-19, The Message

15-18 The seventh Angel trumpeted. A crescendo of voices in Heaven sang out,

The kingdom of the world is now
the Kingdom of our God and his Messiah!
He will rule forever and ever!

The Twenty-four Elders seated before God on their thrones fell to their knees, worshiped, and sang,

We thank you, O God, Sovereign-Strong,
   Who Is and Who Was.
You took your great power
   and took over—reigned!
The angry nations now
get a taste of your anger.
The time has come to judge the dead,
to reward your servants, all prophets and saints,
Reward small and great who fear your Name,
and destroy the destroyers of earth.

19 The doors of God’s Temple in Heaven flew open, and the Ark of his Covenant was clearly seen surrounded by flashes of lightning, loud shouts, peals of thunder, an earthquake, and a fierce hailstorm.

The Last Trumpet Sounds

Revelation 11:15-19, New English Translation

15 Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven saying:

“The kingdom of the world
has become the kingdom of our Lord
and of his Christ,
and he will reign for ever and ever.”

16 Then the twenty-four elders who are seated on their thrones before God threw themselves down with their faces to the ground and worshiped God

17 with these words:

“We give you thanks, Lord God, the All-Powerful,
the one who is and who was,
because you have taken your great power
and begun to reign.
18 The nations were enraged,
but your wrath has come,
and the time has come for the dead to be judged,
and the time has come to give to your servants,
the prophets, their reward,
as well as to the saints
and to those who revere your name, both small and great,
and the time has come to destroy those who destroy the earth.”

19 Then the temple of God in heaven was opened and the ark of his covenant was visible within his temple. And there were flashes of lightning, roaring, crashes of thunder, an earthquake, and a great hailstorm.

Alternate wordings for your own Jubilee Cards

SYNC is not about standardizing you. It is about encouraging you to SYNC with Jesus Christ, the master of creativity and variety. We provide the card content in the downloadable Word file so you may customize them as you wish. Here are some changes you may want to make:

  • Which Bible version?

The default wording uses personalized paraphrase format based on The Message. You may prefer the straight quotes from a more precise translation. For example, this is what the seven verses sound like in the New Living Translation.

Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices shouting in heaven: “The world has now become the Kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign forever and ever.”   Revelation 11.15

Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.  Luke 2.14

Arise, Jerusalem! Let your light shine for all to see. For the glory of the LORD rises to shine on you.  Isaiah 60.1

For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.  Colossians 1.27

He was given authority, honor, and sovereignty over all the nations of the world, so that people of every race and nation and language would obey him. His rule is eternal—it will never end. His kingdom will never be destroyed.  Daniel 7.14

And he also said, “It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life.”  Revelation 21.6

He who is the faithful witness to all these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!  Revelation 22.20

  • Which form of the Declaration?

This is a day of the Coming King, and we see his glory dawning.

This is a day to remember that King Jesus is coming back to reign, and to live like it matters.

This is a day to remember that King Jesus is coming back to reign, and to live like that fact changes everything.

Use any of these or any similar wording to keep the vision of Jesus's return on your mind as you go through your day. If you keep coming back to this, you are on the best anti-depressant known to the human race.

  • Which form of the Prayer?

Set of seven informal prayers to use in a weekly cycle

These are based on the seven Jubilee Verses above, which bring out different parts of the Vision Rhythm. Use this option if you like the idea of "praying Scripture," and if variety helps you focus.

Same formal prayer every day for the whole Season
Light up our faces with the glory to come. Let it shine. Let it shine. Let it shine.
Use this option if you like repetition and want to drill in the basic idea
Simplest way -- no cards at all
"SYNC us with your Vision" or "SYNC me with your Vision." This ties you each day to the two-word prayer for all seven SYNC seasons--"SYNC us." It is based on the "Prayer for God's Campaign," a.k.a. the Lord's Prayer. (See under "God's campaign.") A good option if you want something that will work without having to look at cards.
Write/say your own prayer(s)
Prayer is not "one-size-fits-all." Please adjust any of the above to fit you better, or start over and create your own prayers from scratch. Whatever SYNC's you with Christ's return is fine!
Bed-time prayer
The Bible ends with the prayer, "Yes, come Lord Jesus!" (Revelation 22.20). That is also a great way to end each of our days. Look back at your day, at what happened or didn't, and invite Jesus to come back. Then sleep peacefully with that prospect on your minds. The Christmas King is coming, and everything is going to be all right!

FAQs on personal use of Jubilee Cards

Isn't it dangerous to add any words of our own into a Scripture verse?

The biblical warning on this point, Revelation 22.18, is about adding or deleting things that change the meaning. The intention of our adjustments to the wording is to bring the truth of the Scripture home to you in order to move you to act on it.

That truth is already there, and we do not intend to change any of it or add to it. We do not think we have; however, you be the judge. If you think this version of the Cards is "putting words into God's mouth" that should not be there, then ignore our version and print the verse from the translation you prefer.
BTW, the bigger danger about Scripture is that we will read it and not change our view of ourselves to SYNC with it. In that case we are hearers but not doers (James 1.22). Use whatever version best motivates you to get on with the doing of the Word.
